The Centre for Global Education (CGE) is organizing schools to unite and raise funds and awareness for the crisis in Haiti. The CGE website is open to students and teachers to post their school events in the calendar, share their thoughts on the blog and post about their inspirations and challenges on the discussion board.
The CGE is also coordinating Canada’s largest live videoconference/webcast for the third week in February. This videoconference will connect schools to a panel of national and international experts who will address the situation in Haiti from the perspective of youth, Canadian organizations, International NGOs, and Haitians. For the first 40 minutes, each panelist will address the disaster in Haiti from their perspective. A 30 minute questions and answer session from active participant schools will follow.
The panel guests include: Jennifer Corriero, Executive Director of TakingITGlobal; Hennick Moss, Haitian Earthquake Survivor; Cameron Sinclair, Executive Director of Architects for Humanity; and The Canadian Red Cross, Member of the National Executive.
